What does it mean to fear God? To view Him with reverence.
Fear the Lord and depart from evil.
"God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him."
Psalm 89 verse 7
King James
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. My son, despise not chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction: For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding."
Proverbs 3 verses 5-13
King James
"And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding."
Job 28 verse 28
King James
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction."
Proverbs 1 verse 7
King James
"By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil."
Proverbs 16 verse 6
King James
"A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident."
Proverbs 14 verse 16
King James
"Wisdom is the right application to knowledge"
"Maintain a good relationship with God"
"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil."
Ecclesiastes 12 verses 13-14
King James
"The fool says there is no God, corrupt are they."
